Terms of Use
Last updated October 26, 2026
These terms are the rules for using Emalise. “We” and “us” mean Andre Tran, who runs Emalise; “you” means you, whether you use it with an account or as a guest.
Agreeing to these terms
By using Emalise, with an account or without one, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use it.
You must be at least 18 to use Emalise.
The service
Emalise is a free AI chat app, with news, market, election and encyclopedia pages around it. We may add, change, limit or remove any part of it, or stop running it, at any time.
Use is limited each day, for accounts and for guests, and the limits reset at midnight UTC. Some features, such as attaching files, making pictures, running code, memory and connectors, need an account. Limits and features may change.
Your account
Use your own email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens in it.
We don’t verify email addresses. If you forget your password, you can ask on the sign-in page for a link to reset it, which we email to the account’s address and which works once, within an hour. Whoever can read that email can take over the account, so use an address only you can read. The app offers no way to add Google or GitHub sign-in to an account made with an email address and password, so if you forget its password and can no longer read its email, you may lose the account for good.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings, Account. If you connected GitHub, or Notion where we offer it, or tried to, the deletion waits until that service confirms it has revoked the app’s access; where it can’t, write to us once you have removed the app there yourself, and we will clear the connection so the deletion can go ahead.
AI answers can be wrong
Replies, titles, Discover articles, stock analyses, the market summary on Finance, with its notes on why stocks moved or are trending, and encyclopedia articles are written by AI models. They can be wrong, out of date, incomplete or offensive, and they can sound sure when they are not. Check anything that matters against a reliable source before you rely on it.
Nothing in Emalise is professional advice: not financial or investment advice, and not medical, legal or tax advice. Market figures, prediction-market odds and polls come from others and can be late or wrong. Polls and odds are not forecasts, and election results come from each state’s election office, not from us.
An AI model may give other people answers like the ones it gives you. If someone may be in danger, contact the emergency services.
Your content
What you write and upload stays yours. You give us permission to store it, process it and send it to the services that run the app, as the Privacy Policy describes, only to provide Emalise to you, and to publish encyclopedia topics you ask for, as described below.
You are responsible for what you send. Only upload what you have the right to share, and don’t share other people’s personal information without a good reason and the right to do so.
As far as we are concerned, you may use what the app writes for you, subject to the law and to the terms of the AI providers behind it. You are responsible for how you use it.
A topic you ask the encyclopedia for may be written up and published for everyone to read, without your name. Don’t put personal information in a topic.
What you may not do
Don’t use Emalise to:
- break the law, or help anyone else break it;
- harass, threaten, defame or harm anyone, or exploit or endanger children in any way;
- make or spread malware, spam, scams or disinformation;
- infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- get around the daily limits, for instance with several accounts, or resell access to the app;
- probe, scrape or overload the app, reach it by automated means other than an ordinary browser, or get around its security;
- pass off what the app writes as written by a person, where that would mislead someone;
- break the usage policies of the AI providers behind it, among them Google’s, Anthropic’s and OpenRouter’s.
The AI models may refuse requests on their own. We don’t review conversations as a matter of course, but we may look into misuse that is reported to us or that we notice.
Connectors
If you connect GitHub, you let the app read the repositories its GitHub App is installed on that your GitHub account can see, whether you or an organization’s owner installed it there; if you connect Notion, where we offer it, you let the app read the pages you share with it. The Privacy Policy says more. Connect only accounts and content you are allowed to share. Each service’s own terms still apply to your use of it, and you can disconnect at any time in Customize.
Other people’s content and services
Emalise shows and links to content from others: news from newsrooms’ feeds, market data from Yahoo Finance and Nasdaq, prediction markets from Polymarket, polls from VoteHub, weather from Open-Meteo, and the web pages replies cite. That content belongs to its owners, and we aren’t responsible for it or for the sites it links to.
Suspension and ending
We may limit, suspend or delete an account, or block access, if we believe it breaks these terms, puts others or the app at risk, or if the law requires it. You can stop using Emalise and delete your account whenever you like. The sections on AI answers, your content, disclaimers, liability and governing law still apply after that.
Disclaimers
Emalise is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don’t promise that it will be available, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, or that anything you keep in it will be kept. Keep your own copy of anything you can’t afford to lose.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of Emalise or from relying on anything it says. Our total liability for any claim about Emalise is limited to US$50.
Some places don’t allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law says can’t be limited.
Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute about them or about Emalise, are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law. Such a dispute will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and we agree to those courts’ jurisdiction. This doesn’t take away any protection the law where you live gives you that can’t be set aside by agreement.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update them here and change the date at the top. If you keep using Emalise after a change, the new terms apply.
